About Us

Our History
St. Luke’s LifeWorks began as an outreach effort of St. John’s Episcopal Church in the late 1800s. Constantly changing to meet the needs of the community, LifeWorks became an independent non-denominational charity in 1987. Today, services are provided to more than 400 adults and children who face homelessness each year at 10 locations; eight in Stamford, one in Georgetown and one in Fairfield, Connecticut. LifeWorks current focus is on providing educational opportunities, coaching and mentoring, and housing for families and individuals facing homelessness, recovering from mental illness, or living with HIV/AIDS.  The ultimate goal is for the people served by LifeWorks to achieve greater self-sufficiency and a home of their own.
